Welcome Josh White to the Springer stage. Josh is starring as the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” himself, Elvis Presley, in Million Dollar Quartet, opening November 2 – 19 in McClure Theatre at the Springer. A resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in Economics, he has been performing in theatres across Michigan for over 10 years. Josh’s favorite credits include Enjorlas in Les Miserables, Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Jesus in Cotton Patch Gospel, Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, and Richard Henry Lee in 1776. Josh has played Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet once before, at Farmers Alley Theatre in Kalamazoo under the direction of co-star Scott Moreau (Johnny Cash). “Josh embodies Elvis’ hip-shaking swagger with a smooth crooning voice, while bringing Elvis’ timid nature in his early 20’s to life for the audience,” says Moreau of White’s performance as the iconic musician.
Million Dollar Quartet, the smash hit Broadway musical, inspired by the true story of the legendary recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. By pure chance, these four young musicians dropped in at Sun Records in Memphis on December 4, 1956. The result? The greatest impromptu recording sessions of all time. Don’t miss your chance to be a fly on the wall of fame as the “Million Dollar Quartet” performs their greatest rockabilly, gospel and country hits. Seating is limited in McClure Theatre and several performance are close to a sell out. We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
