The Springer Opera House is one of three finalist selected by the Historic Columbus Foundation to receive the 2017 Public Participation Grant, the foundation’s largest grant program. Historic Columbus will host an Open House at each of the sites of the three finalists on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. It’s up to the public to decide which of the three finalist will receive the grant.
The Springer has requested $100K to fund a new roof for the theatre, repair damage to the ceiling on the third-floor balcony caused by a water leak from the damaged roof and remove mold from the basement under the saloon. We invite you to stop by the Springer this Saturday to view the damage to our building.
The public will then be able to vote on their favorite project at www.historiccolumbus.com. Voting will start on September 23rd at 10:00 a.m. and close at midnight on October 20th. The grant winner will be announced at Historic Columbus’ Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at CB &T.
You do not have to be present to vote. You can vote online once a day per device.
