The sweeping Pultizer Prize-winning masterpiece of the African-American experience by the great August Wilson. Former Negro League baseball star Troy Maxson is now in his 50’s – his glory days far behind him. He’s haunted over the success of black players who followed him and considers players like Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron inferior to him. Troy attempts to assert control in his life through his relationships with his wife and son. But even as he takes responsibility for their safety and well-being, he betrays them each in ways that will forever alter their lives.
