The Greatest Story Ever Retold!

Imagine the Gospel of Matthew set in modern-day rural Georgia. In this exuberant musical, Jesus is born the son of a carpenter in Gainesville, meets a country preacher named John the Baptizer on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Cotton Patch Gospel is “the greatest story ever retold” with music by renowned folk artist Harry Chapin and featuring a live band on stage!

Cotton Patch Gospel was part of the Springer Outdoor Theatre Festival presented on the newly built Festival Stage, located outside of the Springer Opera House on the corner of 10th Street and 2nd Avenue.
