Academy FAQ
DOES MY CHILD NEED THEATRE EXPERIENCE TO REGISTER?
No! Academy is open for any student, of any ability or experience level.
IS ACADEMY OPEN TO STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?
Yes! Academy has a long history of inclusion and adaptations for students with different physical or cognitive needs. Feel free to call us to discuss.
I SEE CLASSES ARE GROUPED BY GRADE LEVEL. DOES THIS MEAN THE GRADE MY CHILD WILL BE GOING TO IN SEPTEMBER?
No. The grade level groupings refer to the grade a student has MOST RECENTLY COMPLETED. For example, if your child has just finished the 4th grade and is going to the 5th grade next year, they would register for the Middle Program this Summer.
WHAT IF I CAN’T PICK MY CHILD UP AT 4:00?
The Academy offers an Extended Day Program! Regular pick-up is 4:00-4:30pm. Additional supervision is available from 4:30-5:30pm with Academy staff. $10 per day per child.
DO I HAVE TO PAY THE ENTIRE TUITION IN ADVANCE?
We require a minimum deposit of $100 for Main Program and Middle Program; $50 for Tykes and Junior Program. Your remaining balance is due no later than the first day of classes.
WHAT ABOUT LUNCH?
Students must bring lunch from home.
DOES THE SPRINGER OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?
Yes!
Multiple Child: $25 OFF for each additional registered child in a family.
Springer Society Membership ($2,500 level & UP): $25 OFF for each student.
Military Family: 10% OFF with proof of ID.
DO YOU HAVE A PAYMENT PLAN OPTION?
Yes! Please see our payment plan options on our CampBrain registration.
DO YOU OFFER TUITION ASSISTANCE?
We can offer need-based tuition assistance, based on availability and the date of your application.
WILL THERE BE A PRESENTATION AT THE END OF MY CHILD’S CLASS?
Each class session will end with a presentation of class work. This is not a formal showcase, but rather an “open class” style sharing of what students have been working on during their time at the Academy and a chance for families to see all the skills they have gained.
WILL MY CHILD GET TO BE IN A SPRINGER PLAY IF WE REGISTER?
Possibly, but not automatically. During the month of August, Springer Theatre Academy students can audition for student roles in professional Springer productions. Academy students have recently been featured in The Cat in The Hat, White Christmas, Look Forward: The Ruby Bridges Story and more!
HOW DO I AUDITION FOR A GROUPS/B GROUPS?
The Academy will have group auditions for each of these. Find audition information here!
