“Is SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN happening?”
Update Satueday March 14, 2020
With the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we want to update you regarding our production of SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN. The safety of our patrons is the Springer’s Number One priority.
In light of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s announcement of a State of Emergency this date, the Springer Opera House has reviewed the newest analytics and concluded the following:
While confirmed cases of COVID-19 have multiplied significantly in Georgia over the past 24 hours, no cases have been identified in Muscogee County or within a 90 mile radius of Columbus, Georgia. Performances of SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN will continue for the remainder of the weekend - March 14 and 15 - and Springer management will reassess the situation on Monday.
If Springer patrons choose to stay home rather than attend this weekend’s performance, we respect that decision and will gladly issue vouchers to attend future Springer performances.
We are experiencing an unusually high volume of phone calls so please be patient with us as we navigate the path forward during this difficult time.
Thank you for loving the Springer.

Producing Artistic Director
Regarding COVID-19: Citizens are encouraged to take the normal precautions they usually take during flu season:
More frequent hand washing.
Avoid touching your face.
If you are sick, stay home.
Avoid shaking hands and hugging friends at public gatherings.
As an extra precaution during this period, all surfaces that theatre patrons come in contact with are being sanitized and disinfected multiple times each day. In addition, we are doubling the number hand-sanitizer stations throughout the building. If the situation changes and the Health Department reports a threat of "community spread" the Springer will notify patrons and take appropriate action.
