Oh, What A Night! Jersey Boys Opens 2024-25 Springer Season

Story of Iconic Legends to Blend Sharp Suits and Smooth Harmonies in Broadway Hit

The Springer Theatre starts its new season with one of Broadway's hottest hits: the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys. This high-energy production takes audiences on a journey through the true story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the iconic group that rocked the 1960s with hits like "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Walk Like a Man." The curtain rises on the Woodruff Hall Mainstage on Thursday, September 19, at 7:30 PM.

The season opener at the Springer is more than a jukebox musical. The story transports audiences back to an era of sharp, stylish suits and smooth street-corner harmonies. Jersey Boys is a captivating, behind-the-scenes look at the trials and triumphs of four blue-collar "fellas" - Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi - who became one of the biggest musical acts of all time. The unique storytelling method, with each member of the group narrating a different "season" of their career, provides a fresh and intriguing perspective on their journey.

The Springer's production promises to be an entertaining event, with classic retro costumes that perfectly capture the mid-century modern style of the 1960s. The men will wear sleek, tailored suits with skinny ties, while the women will sparkle in period-appropriate dresses that embody the sophisticated fashion of the era. The show's visual appeal is matched only by its powerful score, which is sure to have audiences tapping their feet and singing along.

Artistic Director Keith McCoy is thrilled to bring this story to life on the Springer stage. "This show is more than just a trip down memory lane," says McCoy. It's a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit. The music is timeless, but what really resonates is the story of these four men who, despite all the odds, made their mark on history."

As the season opener, Jersey Boys sets the bar high for what promises to be an unforgettable year of performances at the Springer Theatre. "We're starting the season with a production that will really excite our audience," adds McCoy. "The cast has a chemistry that brings an incredible energy to this show that's just impossible to resist. Whether you're a lifelong fan of the Four Seasons or just discovering their music for the first time, this production will inspire and entertain you."

In addition to an entertaining on stage performance, the Springer's Live at Lunch series returns with Jersey Boys and is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a free preview of the show on Friday, September 20, at Noon in the Players Saloon. Live at Lunch features cast performances, interviews with the production crew, and insight from the director. It's a chance to get a sneak peek into the world of Jersey Boys and experience the magic behind the scenes before the official opening night.
